The American Masterpiece Program is funded by the National Endowment on the Arts, and administered in Vermont by the Vermont Council on the Arts in partnership with the Vermont Folklife Center .

Grants are available to not-for-profit organizations and educational institutions like:

• schools,
• libraries,
• community organizations,
• parks & recreation departments,
• etc.

Grants fund performances and workshops by designated American Masterpiece artists.

Grant amounts range from $250- $500, and are generally 50% of the artist's fee.

Deadline for application is 60 days before the performance. Notification is 45 days after application. Projects must take place between the date of notification and August 31 2008.
